Startups Demo Week 1.0
Apply to present at Crimson Founders Startups Demo Session in collaboration with the Future 100 - the national initiative launched by the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates. The session will take place at UAE Ministry of Economy’s flagship global investment event, Investopia, on February 26 & 27, 2025 at St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi.
Eligibility
This application is exclusively for individuals who are current or former students or professors of degree programs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) or Harvard University. Eligible applicants include those enrolled in or who have completed bachelor's, master's, or doctoral programs, as well as professors from either institution. Please note that certificate programs, online programs, and executive education programs do not qualify. Postdoctoral researchers are eligible to apply.

Criteria

At least one founder or C-Suite equity-holding member, holding at least 5% equity, must be a current student, graduate, or professor from a degree program (bachelor's, master's, doctoral, or post-doctoral) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and/or Harvard University. This application must be completed and submitted by the MIT and/or Harvard affiliated member.

Startups from any industry and region are welcome to apply.

Startups funded by institutional investors at the Seed, Series A, or Series B stages are eligible to apply. Additionally, startups that have been self-funded or funded by family and friends but are actively seeking institutional seed funding are also welcome to apply.

Startups must demonstrate revenue generation or proof of concept. This could include having a functioning product, generating revenue from customers or clients, or demonstrating market interest through letters of intent or pilot projects.

The company must have been founded before September 29, 2024.

Non-profits are not eligible to apply.

This pitch competition requires in-person participation, with at least one member of the founding team physically present to deliver the presentation. However, the presenter does not need to be the MIT and/or Harvard affiliated member.

The presenter must be the individual appearing in both the pitch video and demo video submitted with the application

The application deadline is by the end of the day on January 17th, 2025, Eastern Time (New York Time).

The results will be announced by January 24th, 2025.

The presenter is responsible for obtaining the necessary visa for entry into the United Arab Emirates.
